How admission works
From the school’s new student page:
- New applicants submit an electronic application on the school’s website, one per student. Siblings of current students also apply.
- Students from private schools or from outside Miami-Dade public schools must show an official transcript or grades when accepted.
- Current AcadeMir students do not reapply; their seat is reserved.
- Any eligible student who applies by the posted deadline is considered unless applications exceed capacity. Then “all applicants shall have an equal chance of being admitted through a lottery process.”
The school’s website also posts its controlled open enrollment policy and its enrollment criteria.

Calendar and bell times
The school posts its bell schedule on its school hours page and its calendar on its school calendar page. It also runs a before and after care program, with its own handbook and registration. Charter schools can set their own calendars, so check the school’s instead of the district calendar.
Where students go next
Charter schools have no feeder pattern. AcadeMir East fifth graders can continue at East Middle on the same campus. After eighth grade, students can apply to a charter high school or attend the district high school assigned to their address; check it with the district’s Find Your Neighborhood School lookup.
