Downtown Doral is the city’s walkable center: shops, restaurants, apartments and charter schools built around City Hall and a three-acre park. It is where the city holds its tree lighting, holiday bazaar and outdoor movies, and where The Doral Yard puts on live music most weekends.

Downtown Doral Park and the Cultural Arts Center
Downtown Doral Park, 8395 NW 53rd St., has an open lawn, picnic areas, a playground and a walk and run path. It is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and closes at sunset on Sunday. Downtown Doral says the park is pet-friendly. Phone: 305-593-6600.
The Doral Cultural Arts Center, 8363 NW 53rd St., next to the park, has a large gallery, a multipurpose room, courtyards and a rooftop terrace. It is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday, and runs talks, workshops and children’s storytimes. Phone: 305-593-6671.

The Doral Yard
The Doral Yard, 8455 NW 53rd St., Suite 106, at Paseo Boulevard and NW 53rd Street, is a 20,000-square-foot venue built on the model of The Wynwood Yard. Indoors, “The Hub” has a small food hall, co-working space and a full bar; outdoors, “The Backyard” has a live music stage, turf and more food vendors. Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday (hours and parking). Unless an event is marked 21 and up, all ages are welcome. Phone: (786) 843-5106.

Parking and getting there
- Street parking in Downtown Doral (NW 54th Street to south of NW 52nd Street, NW 79th to NW 87th Avenue) is paid through PayByPhone or ParkMobile; Doral residents can enroll for a discounted rate, according to the city’s parking page. Questions: parkdoral@miamiparking.com, 305-938-0072.
- Garages and lots belong to the retail center and are for its visitors; no overnight or residential parking, Downtown Doral says. Pisco y Nazca validates up to four hours, and The Doral Yard gives a small discount if you bring your garage ticket.
- City events: free parking in the Government Center garage, 8401 NW 53rd Terrace, until 9 p.m., the city’s event pages say.
