Enrollment and teachers
The federal NCES directory counted 876 students in kindergarten to fifth grade in the 2024-25 school year, with 42 full-time-equivalent teachers, or about 21 students per teacher. The school’s home page says its first sixth grade class began this school year, so the campus now runs to sixth grade.
How admission works
From the school’s enrollment page:
- Applications are taken online through SchoolMint all year.
- Open enrollment for 2026-27 began Nov. 3, 2025. Every application filed during open enrollment has the same chance, whether it came in on the first day or the last.
- If open enrollment applications outnumber the seats in a grade, “a system-generated, random lottery” decides who is offered a seat.
- Its enrollment FAQ says siblings must be listed on each application to receive sibling preference, current students keep their seat by returning an intent to return, and applications filed after open enrollment go on a waitlist when a grade is full.
For a tour, the school asks families to call 305-591-2225.

Where students go next
Charter schools have no feeder pattern. The head of schools’ message on the Renaissance website says the school “is growing into a K-12 school community.” Its middle and high campus on NW 33rd Street serves seventh to 10th grade this year. Families can also use the district school assigned to their address; check it with the district’s Find Your Neighborhood School lookup.
