Early voting
Early voting ran every day from Oct. 19 to Nov. 1, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the county’s early voting schedule (PDF). Any Miami-Dade voter can use any site. Two are in Doral:
| Site | Address |
|---|---|
| Office of the Supervisor of Elections | 2700 NW 87th Ave. |
| International Mall Branch Library | 10315 NW 12th St. |
Other nearby sites on the list include the Westchester Regional Library, 9445 SW 24th St., and the Rebeca Sosa Multipurpose Facility, 1700 SW 62nd Ave., West Miami. Every early voting site has a secure drop box for mail ballots during voting hours.
Voting by mail
Mail ballot requests expire after each general election, so many voters need a new request, the elections office says. Request one online, or by phone, email, fax or mail, by 5 p.m. Oct. 22; a postmark does not count. Return it by mail so it arrives by 7 p.m. on Election Day, at an early voting drop box, or in person at the Supervisor of Elections headquarters on Election Day. Florida law does not allow you to drop a mail ballot at your precinct. Mail it early so the office can reach you if there is a problem with your signature.
Election Day and ID
On Nov. 3 you must vote at your assigned polling place; look it up with the voter information tool. Bring a current photo ID with your signature, such as a Florida driver’s license or ID card, a U.S. passport, a military ID or a student ID. If one card lacks a signature, you can combine two from the approved list on the county’s Election Day page. A voter whose eligibility cannot be confirmed votes a provisional ballot.
What is on the Doral ballot
Besides the countywide and state races, Doral voters decide two City Council seats and one charter question, according to the city’s notice of election and sample ballot (PDF). Council members are elected citywide; every Doral voter votes in both races.
| Race | Candidates (as listed on the ballot) |
|---|---|
| Council Member, Seat 2 | Fernanda Gomes; Maureen Porras |
| Council Member, Seat 4 | Peter Espinosa; Gustavo Garagorry |
| Charter question | Establish a lifetime limit of four terms for mayor and four terms for council member, counted separately, including terms served before the amendment |
